Insurance, documents and locations

Policies, paperwork, and where things physically are.

Insurance policies

There are two different things in WorthSafe with the word insurance on them, and it helps to know which you want:

A policy of the second kind can be linked to the asset it covers. You can do this from the policy, or directly on the asset's own screen for property, vehicles, valuables and household goods.

Documents

Attach photos or scans to any asset or liability — a statement, a deed, a valuation, a policy schedule. They are stored with the record and sync through your own iCloud.

Storage locations

Define the places you keep things — a safe, a bank locker, a room — in Settings › Data › Storage Locations, then set one on each physical item.

The Household Inventory report then groups your possessions by location, which is exactly what an insurer or a loss adjuster asks for after a fire or a burglary.

Institutions

Banks, brokers and dealers are stored once and reused. Each has a short abbreviation used when the app suggests a name for a new account — if you leave it blank, one is derived from the name.
